The 44th World Scout Conference returns to Olympia London 107 years after the first event – held during the 1st World Scout Jamboree in 1920.

During the inaugural World Scout Jamboree, contingent leaders met and decided that an international framework was needed. Their informal meetings have since been credited as the 1st World Scout Conference, and that legacy began at the same venue as the 44th World Scout Conference in 2027.

Since 1920, the World Scout Conference has been held in different countries around the globe. Each Conference provides Member Organizations with the opportunity to review progress, elect the World Scout Committee, agree policies and priorities, and shape the strategic direction of World Scouting.

Over the decades, the Conference has evolved alongside the Scout Movement itself. From supporting Scouting’s growth into new countries to promoting peace, sustainability, education, and youth engagement, the Conference exists to help Scouting meet the needs of young people around the world.

Returning to London more than a century after the first informal meetings provides an opportunity to celebrate our history while looking confidently towards the future of Scouting.

As we gather for the 44th World Scout Conference, we continue a tradition that has united Scouts around the world for over 100 years — and together, we will shape the next chapter of our Movement.
